Electric Scooters Galore Maintenance Recommendations
As the owner of a personal transportation vehicle, it is your responsibility to follow the manufacturer’s instructions about ongoing maintenance of your vehicle. Every product we sell comes with an Owner’s Manual: please keep this document on file and refer to it. We also provide links to Owner’s Manuals on the product pages of our website.
Here are our recommendations about maintaining your vehicle:
- FOLLOW ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: If your scooter requires partial assembly, be careful to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe assembly of your vehicle. Carefully check over your new scooter while your feet are still on the ground, before going for a test ride.
- CHECK BEFORE RIDING: Check your vehicle before each ride to make sure that all components are functioning properly: steering, brakes, throttle, tires, motor, batteries, foot deck and/or seat, wiring/cables, and other components unique to your type of scooter. Refer to your owner’s manual for details about your particular vehicle.
- HEED WARNING LABELS: Obey any warning labels placed on your scooter, bike or other personal vehicle by the manufacturer: they are there for good reasons, and can keep you from whatever unpleasant situation may have happened that caused the label to be put there in the first place.
- PERFORM ONGOING MAINTENANCE: Follow manufacturer’s instructions about ongoing maintenance and repair. Check your vehicle for roadworthiness regularly between rides: tighten nuts & bolts, follow battery charging procedures, be sure the frame is sturdy, check the tires, and so forth.
- FIND A REPAIR SHOP: Consult a reputable repair shop whenever you have questions about the mechanical functioning of your scooter. If you would like to have assistance with locating a repair shop in your area, go to
the "Find a Repair Shop" link to take you from this website to the Parts for Scooters finder map.
